MISSION

The Worldwide Organization for Women (WOW) promotes women’s understanding of their inherent worth and crucial role in society. We support and unite women of all nationalities and faiths in their efforts to create positive change in their local communities and improve overall well-being through Advocacy, Education and Humanitarian Activities.

OUR VISION

A woman’s inherent power as an influence for good in the home with her children, and in her local and world communities, will be acknowledged, valued, and utilized.

WHO: We are women helping women, united by our vision of a better world.

WHAT: The Worldwide Organization for Women (WOW) is an International Non-Denominational, Non-Profit 501 (c)(3) Non- Governmental Organization (NGO).  Since December 1997, WOW has held special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at the United Nations.  WOW has permanent United Nations representatives in both the New York City and Geneva locations.  Interns from several universities around the world participate in academic training programs, such as the Student Education Global Education Opportunities (GEO), and research focused on issues affecting women and families.

WHY: We believe women have a powerful influence for good in the home and in the world. We advocate for women who are currently voice-less in their own homes and countries; we improve and increase educational opportunities for girls and women to improve their chances of survival; and we create, and fund through charitable contributions and membership dues, humanitarian activities to improve whole communities.
